Your Writing Partner

Mark

Mark Grindy is a writer, strategist, and presidential campaign veteran. He helps leaders shape the broader conversation by developing their ideas through keynote speeches, opinion pieces, white papers, books, and other strategic narrative material.

For more than a decade, decision makers in the C-suite, scientists working toward breakthroughs, and start-up entrepreneurs building the next big thing have turned to Mark for writing and counsel. His work has been published by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, VentureBeat, Vox, and CNBC. His speeches have influenced CES main stage attendees, Fortune 500 shareholders, and swing state voters. His lines have been delivered by Hall of Famers, award-winning entertainers, and a legend of podcasting.

As a senior director at West Wing Writers, the world’s preeminent speechwriting and strategy firm, Mark contributed to a national-bestselling book, counseled Fortune 500 executives as they led their organizations through dramatic transformations, and shaped product messaging for the launch of new electric vehicles, streaming services, and mobile devices. PBS News Hour host Gwen Ifill quoted his words without knowing he wrote them—and there’s a chance you’ve done the same.

Co-Writing Process

Research: Nose to the grindstone.

Interview: Ear to the phone.

Draft: Pen to paper.

Revisions: As many as it takes.

I believe in a co-writing process that affirms your role as the author of the ideas we develop together.

As your writing partner, nothing is more important to me than understanding how you think. I interview you to hear where you stand and identify where you want to go. I conduct research to build out your narrative. I take the first pen to bring your vision to life. And from there, I work with you to improve each revision until you say it feels just right.

I've proven this process with keynote speeches delivered under white-hot stage lights and personal toasts shared in the most intimate settings. I've used it to create opinion pieces, book chapters, and blog posts that readers find meaningful and memorable. And I've had a lot of fun along the way.

If that sounds like what you have in mind, then we’re already on our way to being of one mind. Don't hesitate to reach out. I'd love to write with you.
